The Atlanta-based Black Lips are at their finest on this live set. Recorded in Tijuana, this is the greatest live album I've heard in years. The Black Lips have a sound that mixes classic Ventures-style Americana with psychedelic and punk rock overtones. Their vocal harmonies and lyrical sensibilities are wild yet in some ways delicate, and they certainly struck a chord with the booze-soaked Tijuana audience which provides an incredibly deep ambiance throughout the album. They shine as a live act, and this was an outstanding night for them. It's a good thing they remembered to hit the record button. Vice Records
